Male, 7 October 2021 (TDI): The Foreign Minister of Maldives, Abdulla Shahid held a meeting with the Ambassador of China to the Maldives, Wang Lixin.
The two officials exchanged their views on the changing dynamics of international affairs. They both are hoping to find out ways to enhance cooperation between China and Maldives. The aim is not to focus on bilateral ties only, but to also improve multilateral efforts.
China and the Maldives are developing nations that are strong proponents of multilateralism.
The traditional friendship and mutual support between China and the Maldives serve as an example for all countries. That is to respect each other as equals and collaborate for mutual gain. Both countries can do more and better to solve shared challenges and strengthen bilateral cooperation.
