Istana, 7 December 2021 (TDI): Malaysian member parliament visits Singapore on Monday. Her 3-day official visit will last from 6 to 9 December.
The parliamentarian YB Nurul Izzah is visiting Singapore at the invitation of Foreign Minister Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan.
Yang Berhormat Puan Nurul Izzah Anwar, Member of Parliament for Permatang Pauh, Penang, Malaysia, is visiting Singapore under the S R Nathan Fellowship from 6 to 9 December 2021.

During the visit, Miss. Izzah will hold talks with Singapore’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vivian Balakrishnan. Apart from it, she will also get an opportunity to meet the Minister of Education, Chan Chun Sing, and the Foreign Minister Sim Ann. Other members of the Ministerial Cabinet will also host the visiting member parliament.
Malaysian politicians will also go to the Ministry of Social and Family Development Social Service Office, and the Institute of Technical Education College Central.
Miss YB Nurul Izzah is member parliament from Permatang Pauh, Penang Malaysia. She belongs to the People’s Justice Party (PKR) of Malaysia.
SR Nathan Fellowship
The visit of the member Parliament of Malaysia is conducted under an SR Nathan Fellowship. It is a high-level program that gives opportunities to foreign leaders, prominent personalities to exchange ideas and experiences on mutually beneficial issues with Singapore leaders.
Former President SR Nathan and then-Minister for Foreign Affairs launched the fellowship. It was inaugurated in November 2012 in Singapore. Earlier, she served as a member of parliament for Lembah Pantai for ten years from 2008 to 2018. Also, she is the daughter of the head of the PKR party.
This exchange is a vital part of the cooperation between the countries. Furthermore, the officials highlighted the need to create different bilateral initiatives to further address common benefits. These include educational, political, and social aspects of bilateral relations. According to the Parliamentarian, the body is fully working in human rights aspects.
