Lt-Gen Amir Re-designated as Ambassador to Qatar

Islamabad (TDI): Lt Gen (r) Muhammad Amir, Former Corps Commander, has been re-designated as Pakistan’s ambassador to Qatar.

Initially appointed as ambassador to the UAE in August, replacing Ambassador Faisal Tirmazi, who was reassigned to Brussels, Lt Gen Amir’s new posting sees him take over the diplomatic role in Doha.

Ambassador Tirmazi will remain in the UAE.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s current ambassador to Qatar, Dr. Mohammad Ejaz, has been reassigned to Belarus.

Marghub Saleem Butt, currently serving at the Foreign Ministry, will take over as envoy to Switzerland, Dawn reported.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Egypt

Shaukat has been appointed to Cairo, succeeding Ambassador Sajid Iqbal.

In another move, Ambassador Imran Chaudhry, currently serving in Oman, will be replaced by Naveed Bokhari, who is attending the National Management Course at the National Defence University (NDU) in Islamabad.
