Lebanese Foreign Minister attends 60th anniversary of Non-Aligned Movement

Belgrade, 12 October 2021 (TDI): The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of Lebanon, Abdullah Bouhabib is in Serbia to attend the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Non-Aligned Movement.

During his visit, Bouhabib underscored the circumstances troubling his country. Lebanon is facing a crisis and a challenging situation. Nonetheless, the Lebanese government is implementing efforts to rescue the country from dire straits. International organizations like the International Monetary Fund (IMF) are helping Lebanon.

The Lebanese Minister is representing his country on behalf of the President of Lebanon, Michel Aoun. Upon arrival to Belgrade, he enunciated his country’s situation. Director of International Organizations, Ambassador Caroline Ziadeh, Lebanon’s Ambassador to Serbia Nada Akl, and the Diplomatic Secretary, Youssef Jabr accompanied him for the visit.

Besides Lebanon, other Middle Eastern countries like Yemen, etc. are also attending the celebration. The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) originated in 1961. It is a forum of 120 developing states that are not officially allied with or against any major coalition.
