Kyrgyz-German Business Forum Highlights Growing Trade Opportunities

Berlin (TDI): Kyrgyzstan is seeking to deepen economic cooperation with Germany, focusing on trade, education, and labor migration, during a visit led by Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Berlin hosted the Kyrgyz-German Business Forum and the fifth meeting of the Kyrgyz-German Business Council last week, organized by Kyrgyzstan’s National Investment Agency, the Eastern Committee of the German Economy, and the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Over 300 participants from government, finance, and business sectors attended the event, exploring opportunities in energy, green technologies, information technology, agriculture, and vocational training.

During the forum, Kasymaliev encouraged German companies to increase engagement in Kyrgyzstan, including equipment supply and investments in sustainable development projects. The visit also marked the launch of the second cycle of the “Days of the Economy of Kyrgyzstan and Germany,” a bilateral initiative aimed at attracting foreign investment and strengthening economic ties.

At the Business Council meeting, Kasymaliev outlined three priority areas for collaboration. First, he proposed enhanced financial and banking integration, including direct correspondent banking relationships between Kyrgyz and German financial institutions to facilitate trade, improve transparency, and ensure secure transactions.

Labor migration cooperation was also highlighted, with plans to jointly develop professional and language training programs and recognize qualifications. Kasymaliev noted that such initiatives would safeguard the rights of Kyrgyz workers while addressing labor shortages in Germany.
