Kyrgyz Foreign Minister addresses CTBT 12th Conference


New York, 25 September 2021 (TDI): The Foreign Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ruslan Kazakbaev spoke at the 12th conference of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT). This Conference was held within the framework of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly.

This Conference was held to promote the entry into force of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty. As the Depositary of the Treaty and the Coordinator Country in the Central Asian Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone, the Foreign Minister welcomed the adoption of the Joint Statement on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on the Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone in Central Asia.

Minister Ruslan Kazakbaev called for deepening cooperation on Disarmament and Non-proliferation. He also made a proposal to establish an “International Day of Disarmament and Non-proliferation Education.”
