Nairobi, 31 August 2021(TDI): Macharia Kamau, Principal Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kenya released a statement about Monica Juma, Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Defense Kenya, on the nomination for the post of 7th Commonwealth Secretary-General.

On Monday, the President of Kenya nominated the Kenyan Candidate  Monica Juma for the post of the Secretary-General of Commonwealth. The Commonwealth is an association of 54 nations with shared common heritage and traditions. This organization plays an important role in maintaining actors to promote peace and stability among the member countries and takes part in building a prosperous future for the countries. Dr. Monica Juma has a clean record of excellent performance and leadership and is expected to represent Kenya’s stance more efficiently on this platform. The President of Kenya hoped that the Commonwealth Heads of Government Summit would consider and accept this nomination.
