Islamabad/Karachi (TDI): Investigators probing the powerful explosion , claimed the lives of two Chinese engineers among three persons killed near the Karachi airport on Sunday late night, have concluded that it was a vehicle-borne IED suicide blast.
The blast injured a dozens of others including a Chinese and damaged more than seven vehicles on the road.
According to the daily, Dawn, the bomb disposal experts had submitted their report, disclosing that “approximately 70-80-kg commercial explosive” was used to target the Chinese nationals.
Citing police sources the paper reported that the alleged suicide attacker was also identified who is a resident of Naushki in Balochistan and his name is Shah Fahad.

The investigators while tracing movements of the alleged bomber found out that, Shah Fahad had come to Karachi on Oct 4 and stayed at a hotel in Saddar and he left it on Sunday around noon.
The third unidentified person who was killed in the attack besides the two Chinese was, as police said, the attacker.
Quoting Police Surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed the report added that the mutilated remains of an unidentified person, said to be the bomber, were also brought to the hospital and an autopsy was conducted while DNA samples were also taken.
She told the paper that the bodies of two Chinese nationals were brought to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre early on Monday morning and autopsies were carried out.

The slain Chinese nationals as Sichuan, 35, and Chuanxin, 41.
Meanwhile, the Sindh chief minister, while chairing a meeting attended by top officials of police and other law enforcement agencies, ordered the formation of a joint committee to probe the incident.
Hours after the attack Chinese embassy in Pakistan demanded rapid investigation and bringing the perpetrators to justice.
The Chinese embassy’s statement followed by statements from Pakistani side, Pakistani officials including the Prime Minister and Foreign Office vowed to not spare the attackers as it was attack on Pakistan and Pak-China friendship.
Pakistani top officials visited Chinese embassy for condolences on Monday.
