Effective utilization of such resources will irrevocably benefit the economies of Japan and Pakistan. Under the ambit of economic cooperation, Japan has endeavored to improve its social and economic infrastructure. DEFENSE TIES UNDER MATSUDA KUNINORI’S SERVICE

Additionally, during Matsuda Kuninori’s tenure, the defense ties between the two nations have deepened with the intent to stabilize Pakistan as well as the region. The Japanese forces have participated in many joint exercises during these two years. The participation of the destroyer of Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, in AMAN21; organized by the Pakistan Navy for the first time in February this year, is an example improving defense ties.

FUTURE EXPECTATION FOR BOTH ALLIES

He enunciated his expectation of increased cooperation between Pakistan and Japan. The coming year will mark the 70th anniversary of the diplomatic ties between the two countries. According to him, it will be a great opportunity for the burgeoning relations.

Pakistan and Japan both are gradually overcoming the threat of Covid-19 by cooperation. This includes the procurement of vaccines and relevant medical equipment. However, there’s a need to increase mutual visits by the relevant officials and exchanges of tourists and business-related people. This will, in the long run, increase the momentum to enhance the ties.

MATSUDA KUNINORI EXPRESSED GRATITUDE

At the end of his message, he expressed his gratitude for the hospitality he experienced from the people of Pakistan. He also appreciated the efforts of the Japanese Embassy staff in Pakistan for their understanding and support.
