Iraqi head of Arab department meets the Egyptian Ambassador to Iraq

Baghdad, 31 August 2021 (TDI): The acting head of the Arab Department, Osama Mahdi Ghanem, met with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Iraq, Mr. Walid Muhammad Ismail. The two sides discussed bilateral relations and ways to improve prospects for cooperation between Baghdad and Cairo.
Pointing out Iraq’s keenness to enhance joint economic cooperation with Egypt;  The head of the Arab Department expressed Iraq’s keenness to support Iraqi- Egyptian relations in order to achieve a strategic partnership in a way that meets the aspirations of the two brotherly nations and achieves their common interests in progress, prosperity, and development.
This is part of the government’s efforts to rebuild Iraq, expressing Iraq’s aspiration to seek the assistance of Egyptian companies and expertise to participate in reconstruction projects.
