# Iranian Officials Frame US–Iran Deal as Victory in Conflict

**Tehran (TDI):** Iranian officials on Monday framed the newly announced US–Iran peace agreement as a strategic victory, saying Tehran had forced its adversaries to accept an end to months of conflict on terms favorable to the Islamic Republic.

Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said Iran had achieved “great victories” over the United States, insisting that the country’s military and political response had defeated what he described as the enemy’s objectives.

“The enemy that had attacked to carry out its evil aims was defeated in all its aims and the Islamic Republic of Iran won great victories in the war,” he said in comments broadcast on state television.

Gharibabadi confirmed that a “permanent and immediate end to the war” had been declared across all fronts, including Lebanon, with military operations set to cease starting Monday. He added that a 60-day negotiation period would follow to finalize a comprehensive agreement, while warning that Tehran would respond if the deal was violated.

Iranian state media echoed the same message, presenting the ceasefire as the result of military pressure on the United States and its allies, and describing Iranian actions during the conflict as decisive in forcing the agreement.

The official narrative portrayed the outcome not as a compromise but as a victory, with state broadcaster IRIB saying Iran had demonstrated that its opponents had “no path other than accepting defeat and surrender.”

Analysts say the framing is aimed at reinforcing domestic support and countering criticism from hardline factions who have long opposed concessions in negotiations with Washington.

At the same time, reports suggest that hardline figures within Iran’s security establishment played an influential role during the talks. According to a Wall Street Journal report, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander Ahmad Vahidi was among those advocating a tougher negotiating stance and resisting concessions to the United States.

The report also said Vahidi supported Iran’s missile response against Israel following recent strikes in Beirut, even as some officials inside Tehran reportedly feared escalation could disrupt diplomatic efforts.

Despite the ceasefire announcement, Iranian officials continued to emphasize regional red lines, particularly regarding Lebanon.

Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Mohammad Baqer Zolqadr described Lebanon as a core national interest, warning that any violation of Iran’s stated red lines would not be tolerated.

His comments came after renewed Israeli strikes on southern Beirut during the final stages of negotiations, underscoring the fragile security environment even as diplomatic efforts move toward implementation of the agreement.

While the deal is expected to pause hostilities and open a new round of negotiations, Iranian leaders are publicly presenting the outcome as validation of their military and political strategy rather than a concession to external pressure.
