High Commissioner UK to Kenya announced Kenya’s exit from UK’s Red List

Nairobi, 18 September 2021 (TDI): Jane Marriot, the United Kingdom’s High Commissioner to Kenya, on Friday, 17 September, confirmed the news of Kenya being moved from the Red list to the Amber list.

Acknowledging the announcement from the United Kingdom’s Transport Secretary Grant Shapps, the High Commissioner congratulated the people of Kenya for moving from the red list to the Amber list.

As per the Transport Secretary of the United Kingdom, Kenya and seven other countries will move from red list to amber list on 22 September at 4 pm. The travel ban that was imposed due to aggravating cases of Covid-19 and lousy assessment has been removed after witnessing efforts made by the Government of Kenya to reduce the Covid-19.

The High Commissioner, Jane Marriot, acknowledged the severity of putting Kenya on the red list and thanked the State House of Kenya, Foreign Office of Kenya, and Ministry of Health of Kenya for their support and friendly relations towards the United Kingdom despite being placed on the red list.
