Islamabad (TDI): Harerimana Fatou, the High Commissioner of Rwanda to Pakistan, received the acclaimed Global Ambassador Award for her visionary leadership that continues to strengthen growing friendship between Rwanda and Pakistan.
Early in her career, High Commissioner Fatou, played a key role in Rwanda’s democratic development as Vice President of the National Electoral Commission and member of the Senate’s Standing Committee on Social Affairs, and Vice President of the Senate in Charge of Parliamentary Affairs and
Government Oversight.
High Commissioner Fatou assumed her office as the High Commissioner of Rwanda as the first High Commissioner of her country to Pakistan, bringing extensive experience in governance, diplomacy, and parliamentary leadership.
High Commissioner Fatou has worked tirelessly to expand cooperation in trade, investment, education, health, tourism, parliamentary diplomacy, and cultural exchange, while highlighting Rwanda’s strategic role within the East African Community.

Her initiatives have promoted innovation, women’s empowerment, and people-to-people engagement, reflecting the shared values of both nations.
She actively advocated for partnerships to promote shared prosperity, mutual values and innovation-driven solutions, and is widely recognized for fostering resilience and transformational models in national
development and diplomacy.
Before her posting to Islamabad, she served as Rwanda’s High Commissioner to Tanzania and Seychelles, advancing Rwanda’s diplomatic presence in the region.
Her dedication, leadership, and vision continue to strengthen bilateral ties and foster lasting collaboration between Rwanda and Pakistan.
With a degree in Degree in Management & Finance from Kigali Institute of Science and
Technology (KIST), High Commissioner built a career in diplomacy and politics.
