Athens, 13 October 2021 (TDI): Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias delivers a recorded message at the Mediterranean Conference of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). According to Dendias, there has never been a moment in recent history when coordination has been more critical.  With the COVID-19 pandemic, the world has seen an unparalleled global health catastrophe.

The most important lesson we took away from the pandemic is that a global problem requires a worldwide, collaborative response.

Greece reacted by coordinating and standing together. They’ve already given 1.69 million vaccination shots. Four hundred and sixty thousand (460,000) were delivered to OSCE member states, with 700,000 going to Mediterranean nations including Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia, and Libya.

Cooperation is not an option; it is a must.

This is the lesson we must remember as we confront the climate catastrophe, another global danger that has no bounds. Greece will make every effort to find ways to cooperate with all of its neighbors. It will continue to defend its sovereignty and sovereign rights across its domain against any challenge or danger, always in line with International Law and the International Law of the Sea, as embodied in UNCLOS.
