Grand Imam Of Al-Azhar Met Pope Francis

Vatican City, 6 October 2021 (TDI): The grand imam of Al-Azhar, Dr. Ahmed El Tayeb, met with Pope Francis and religious scholars from different corners of the world.

During the meeting, the religious scholars in the Vatican signed a joint appeal for immediate climate action. This religious conference aimed to convince the world community to work for climate protection and the reduction of Green House Gases.

The meeting was arranged just ahead of the Conference of Parties 26, where leaders from all corners of the world will gather to work for joint implementation on the Paris Agreement for reducing climate change.

The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Pope Francis of the Vatican also held a one-on-one meeting where both parties discussed efforts of the global community to reduce climate effect and improve inter-religious harmony. 

The conference ended with a note that all the attendees will work for the protection of climate and convince the world leaders to take immediate action against global warming and climate change.
