Amman, 9 January 2022 (TDI): Today German Defense Minister met with the Jordanian King, Premier, and Foreign Minister. German Christine Lambrecht joined in 3 independent bilateral meetings.

First, with Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, second alongside Bisher Al-Khasawneh, and finally with King Abdullah II. In that way, during the gatherings, they all pointed out the strengthening strategic partnerships between Jordan and Germany.
In-depth of the bilateral meetings
In this regard, Christine Lambrecht focused her discussion with Foreign Minister about the regional issues. Especially about the latest developments and the further steps to coordinate their responses in issues of mutual interest.
On the other hand, the Prime Minister of Jordan joined in a meeting with the German Defense Minister to address their countries’ close relations. Along these lines, the Premier emphasized Jordan’s key and pivotal role in the Middle East Region to promote peace.

Besides that, in the company of the Jordan Major General, Prime Minister pointed out aspects and areas of cooperation between the countries. Especially those which involve security, defense, and training. For example, the exchange of joint experiences between the armed forces of the two countries, in addition to efforts to combat terrorism.
Furthermore, during the third gathering, King Abdullah II kindly welcomed Christine Lambrecht at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates. He highlighted Jordan-Germany diplomatic ties and the need to deepen their relationship for better results.

Nonetheless, Jordan as part of its regional mission has also met with the Israeli Defence Minister. In that way, King Abdullah talked with Benny Gantz to reaffirm the importance of addressing the Palestinian issue. Mainly to create a political horizon that achieves peace based on the two-state solution.
