Islamabad, 31 August 2023 (TDI): On Wednesday, a team from the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) met with Chairman Senate, Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani at Parliament House in Islamabad.
Regional Director Carsten Klein, Head of Country Office Birgit Lamm, and Communication Officer Rebea Firdous had an extensive discussion with the Senate Chairman.
The areas of discussion included renewable energy projects, promoting women’s entrepreneurship, and strengthening the Pakistan-German economic cooperation under the GSP+ framework.
The foundation’s consistent dedication to cultivating a business-friendly environment in Pakistan was particularly noteworthy.
Moreover, this dedication was reinforced by an in-depth examination of the difficulties that firms and entrepreneurs confront, with an emphasis on proactive solutions.
Furthermore, the FNF presented vital insights from their continuing study, “Energy Security and Transition to Renewable Energies in South Asia,” which illuminates avenues toward sustainable energy practices.
In addition, the foundation revealed their joint efforts in supporting women entrepreneurs, a critical component of economic success, in close partnership with chambers of commerce in both Pakistan and Germany.
During the encounter a sad moment occurred when the visiting delegation delivered a symbolic part of the Berlin Wall, invoking historical emotions and representing the spirit of unification.
Sadiq Sanjrani on his part expressed heartfelt gratitude in response to this act of memory. Moreover, recognizing the artifact’s historical and symbolic significance, the Chairman Senate authorized its installation in the Senate Museum.
Senators Manzoor Ahmed Kakar, Nasebulla Bazai, Palwasha Muhammadzai Khan, Senate Secretary Mohammad Qasim Samad Khan, and Senate DG Coordination Mir Shai Mazar Baloch were also present.
Moreover, the head of the Senate expressed appreciation for FNF’s sincere efforts to strengthen connections between Germany and Pakistan.
