London, 27 September 2021 (TDI): Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi met British Pakistani Community in London on the sidelines of an his official visit to United Kingdom.
The meeting was attended by parliamentarians, businessmen, academicians, and professionals.
Addressing the participants, the Foreign Minister said the role of British-Pakistani diaspora has been crucial in bridging the bilateral relations between two countries.
He informed the members about the initiatives undertaken by the government to facilitate overseas Pakistani. He particularly mentioned the Roshan Digital Account and its benefits for the Pakistani diaspora.
Speaking on the occasion, the Foreign Minister reiterated that Pakistan stands in solidarity with the people of Kashmir. He said that Pakistan is raising the issue of Kashmir on all international platforms.
Furthermore, he briefed the participants regarding Pakistan’s position on the situation in Afghanistan.
He also acquainted them with the humanitarian assistance provided by Pakistan to Afghanistan. He said Pakistan successfully conducted evacuation operations.
Moreover, the country has also opened a humanitarian corridor to supply relief goods, including food and medicines, to Afghanistan.
