The representation of the Romania Embassy in Nigeria is a means of promoting and protecting the Romanian state’s interests in accordance with international law, and Nigerian and Romanian legislation.
There is the coordination of the Embassy with the activity of the consular office in Abuja and of the honorary consulates of Romania in Abuja, Lagos, and other cities.
Also, the Embassy facilitates dialogue between the institutions of the two countries in fields of cooperation that stand for the content of the relations between them.
The two countries’ relations established the annual scholarship program for foreign citizens that are offered by Romania.
Additionally, the scholarships offered through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are based on Government decisions.
Due to the Russian war, Nigeria’s Ambassador to Romania spoke on the quality of reception given to escaping Nigerian students in Romania.
Many Nigerians received a good reception at the Romanian border, and Romania’s authorities facilitated easy movement to safety.
Therefore, they were provided food and accommodation for 24 hours whilst some who arrived from Bucharest were taken care of by the Nigerian embassy.
