Foreign Minister of Cyprus visits Lebanon

Beirut, 6 October 2021 (TDI): Nikos Christodoulides, the foreign minister of Cyprus visited Lebanon and met with Najib Mikati, the Prime Minister of Lebanon.

The Prime Minister of Lebanon conveyed his gratitude to the Cypriot Foreign Minister for providing safe haven to the Lebanese. He also thanked him for providing necessary facilities to the Lebanese for living. While the Cypriot Foreign Minister urged Lebanon to carry out mandatory reforms so that Cyprus can support Lebanon on international forms.

During his visit, the Cypriot Foreign Minister also met with Abdallah Bou Habib, his Lebanese counterpart. In the meeting with the newly appointed foreign minister of Lebanon, he talked about bilateral relations. He also expressed his determination to further expand the cooperation between the two states.
The two countries enjoy friendly relations. The relations of the two countries have grown closer and stronger with time. Cyprus has always been ready to help its neighbour in difficult times. Lebanon has always expressed gratitude to Cyprus for its long-lasting support for the Lebanese.
