# Ambassador-designate of Ethiopia Presents Credentials to President Zardari

**Islamabad (TDI):** Oumer Hussien Oba, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to Pakistan, formally presented his Letters of Credence to President Asif Ali Zardari, at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

The presentation of credentials marks the official commencement of Ambassador Oba’s diplomatic assignment in Pakistan, and was followed by a bilateral meeting of the envoy with President Zardari.

During the meeting, both dignitaries reaffirmed shared commitment to strengthening ties across bilateral and multilateral platforms. Discussions focused on unlocking cooperation in key strategic sectors, including climate change, aviation, agriculture, and business.

Ambassador Oba conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Taye Atske Selassie, President of Ethiopia, and Abiy Ahmed Ali, Prime Minister of Ethiopia, to President Zardari and the people of Pakistan.

He also expressed Ethiopia’s appreciation for Pakistan’s “Look Africa” and “Engage Africa” policies, highlighting Islamabad’s increasing outreach toward East African nations.

President Zardari reciprocated the sentiments, extending his regards to Ethiopia’s leadership and expressing confidence in the ambassador’s role in advancing bilateral relations.

He emphasized Pakistan’s intent to elevate both diplomatic and economic engagement with Ethiopia, reflecting a broader strategic pivot toward deeper cooperation with African partners.
