# Ethiopia Showcases Tourism & Culture at Pakistan’s Largest Travel Expo

**Karachi (TDI):** Ethiopia made a vibrant entry onto Pakistan’s tourism stage on Friday as it unveiled a dedicated “Ethiopian Enclave” at the Pakistan Travel Mart 2026, highlighting its rich cultural heritage and growing appeal as a travel destination.

Organized by the Ethiopian Embassy in Islamabad in collaboration with Ethiopian Airlines, the pavilion opened at the Karachi Expo Centre as part of the three-day international exhibition running from April 3 to 5.

The event, now in its fifth edition, has emerged as Pakistan’s largest travel and tourism platform, bringing together global stakeholders from aviation, hospitality, and destination marketing sectors.

The Ethiopian showcase aimed to present the country’s ancient history, diverse landscapes, and vibrant traditions to Pakistani audiences. Visitors were treated to an immersive cultural experience, including Ethiopia’s traditional coffee ceremony.

Senior Pakistani officials, including Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Tourism, and Aftab ur Rehman Rana, Managing Director of the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation, visited the enclave.

Officials and exhibitors used the platform to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in tourism, aviation, and hospitality.

With Pakistan’s outbound travel market steadily growing and increasing connectivity through international airlines, Ethiopia is positioning itself as an emerging destination for Pakistani travelers seeking cultural and historical experiences beyond traditional routes.

The participation reflects a broader trend at PTM 2026, where countries are leveraging the event to strengthen people-to-people ties and promote cross-border tourism.

Pakistan Travel Mart itself serves as a crucial networking hub, enabling partnerships and showcasing destinations to a global audience.

With hundreds of international exhibitors and delegates participating, the event provides a platform for countries like Ethiopia to tap into new markets and build long-term tourism linkages.

The Ethiopian Enclave, which will remain open to visitors until Sunday, received strong interest from Karachi’s travel trade community, media, and the general public. Organizers said the positive response signals growing curiosity among Pakistani travelers about African destinations.
