# Envoys of Six Countries Present Credentials to President Zardari

**Islamabad (TDI): **Pakistan’s President, Asif Ali Zardari, received credentials from six newly appointed foreign envoys, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and exploring new avenues of cooperation.

The ceremony, held at the Presidency, saw ambassadors-designate from Cuba, Ethiopia, Portugal, Spain and Tanzania, along with the High Commissioner-designate of Singapore, present their diplomatic credentials.

The envoys were welcomed with a guard of honor upon arrival, followed by the playing of national anthems and a ceremonial parade before the formal presentation.

Congratulating the diplomats on the start of their assignments, President Zardari expressed confidence that their tenure would contribute to deepening engagement between Pakistan and their respective countries.

He underscored the importance of enhancing cooperation across key sectors including trade, investment, technology, education and people-to-people exchanges.

During separate meetings, the president highlighted Pakistan’s longstanding ties with partner nations while identifying new areas for collaboration.

In discussions with Cuba’s envoy, he praised Havana’s support in healthcare and education, particularly medical scholarships, and noted opportunities for cooperation in biotechnology and tourism. He also recalled Cuba’s assistance during Pakistan’s 2005 earthquake as a lasting symbol of solidarity.

Engagement with [Ethiopia’s ambassador](https://thediplomaticinsight.com/ethiopian-envoy-presents-credentials/) focused on growing bilateral interaction, with emphasis on trade, aviation and technology, alongside the significance of Ethiopia opening its embassy in Islamabad and resuming direct flights.

Talks with Portugal and Spain centered on expanding economic ties, investment opportunities and strengthening cultural and academic exchanges.

The president also acknowledged Spain’s commitment to multilateralism and its role in promoting dialogue during ongoing regional tensions.

In meetings with the envoys of Tanzania and Singapore, President Zardari highlighted the importance of connectivity, business linkages and cooperation in emerging sectors such as fintech, infrastructure and the digital economy.

He reiterated Pakistan’s desire to enhance engagement with the East African Community and deepen partnerships with key Asian economies.
