Islamabad, 14 October 2021 (TDI): Ambassador of Egypt to Pakistan, Dr. Tarek Dahroug, met Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Railway, Muhammad Azam Khan Swati. The meeting marked a discussion on matters of mutual interests and prospects of enhancing bilateral collaboration between the two countries.

Both officials agreed to cooperate on projects of mutual interest. It was also agreed to organize online meetings between representatives of Pakistan and Egypt. This will facilitate dialogue between the two countries and will provide a platform for engagement on bilateral issues.

Pakistan and Egypt share cordial diplomatic relations based on mutual trust and solidarity. Egypt was one of the first countries to recognize Pakistan. The two countries established diplomatic relations in 1948. Pakistan has an embassy in Cairo. While Egypt maintains an embassy in Islamabad. Both countries are members of the Organization of Islamic Conference and D-8.

During the meeting, the two sides pledged to diversify relations between the two countries at all levels.
