New York, 25 April 2023 (TDI): The ECOSOC Youth Forum started on 25 April and will continue till 27 April in a hybrid manner.
The Youth Forum addresses the theme of ECOSOC and the 2023 UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF). The theme is titled, “Accelerating the recovery from the coronavirus disease – COVID-19 – and the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda at all levels”
To support youth-centered dialogue, youth leadership and knowledge sharing UNDP engages in the Forum in high-level events, ministerial meetings, and side events with multiple partners.
Young people are invited to share best practices, lessons learned, solutions as well as creative and innovative ideas with Member States, other youth participants and stakeholders on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.
The Forum reviews progress in the areas of Sustainable Development Goals. The main goals included in the Forum for review are Goal 6 for clean water and sanitation, Goal 7 for affordable and clean energy, Goal 9 for industry, innovation, and infrastructure, Goal 11 for sustainable cities and communities, and Goal 17 for partnerships for the goals.

The three-days event features plenary sessions as well as interactive thematic and regionally based discussions. The youth will also have the opportunity to contribute to the preparatory process of the SDG Summit on 27 April 2023.
The 2023 UN HLPL will be held from July 10 to July 19, 2023.
The HLPL in July will also support the mid-term review of the implementation of the SDGs and the preparations for the 2023 SDG Summit – the HLPF to be convened under the auspices of the General Assembly in September 2023.
