Islamabad, 18 June 2021 (TDI): The Ambassador of the Netherlands to Pakistan, Wouter Plomp visited the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The objective of the visit was to further deepen the trade and commerce relations between Pakistan and the Netherlands.
The Dutch Ambassador took to his official Twitter account to share this latest development in the bilateral ties of the two partners. He declared that he had a constructive discourse with the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI). In addition, Wouter Plomp also lauded the entrepreneurial vivacity of the city.
Agenda of the Meeting
Aside from that, the agenda of the meeting was to deliberate upon GSP+ as well as the trade relations of Pakistan with the Netherlands and the European Union (EU), respectively with the business community of the Sialkot Chamber. The Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry also shared the news through Twitter.

The Ambassador was accompanied by the Policy officer of Economic Affairs, Sundus Munawar, and the First Secretary, Winnie van der Wal of Netherlands.
Ambassador Wouter Plomp underscored that the Netherlands is keen to enhance trade and economic ties with Pakistan for mutual benefit. Whereas Pakistan also gives great importance to the Netherlands and aims to enhance bilateral cooperation.
Pakistan and Netherlands enjoy friendly and historic bilateral ties. The relationship between the two countries has multifaceted contours with collaboration in the economic, cultural, trade, and educational spheres.
The two partners maintain permanent embassies as well as honorary consulates in each other’s countries. Diplomatic ties between the two were established soon after the independence of Pakistan.
