USAID in Education Sector

USAID (United States Agency for International Development) works in the education sector with the Government of Pakistan and other developmental partners.

The aim is to increase access to education along with improving the quality of basic and higher education in Pakistan.

USAID and the government of Pakistan partner to improve the education sector by training the teaching and administrative staff at schools and devising effective educational policies.

USAID also invests in improving the higher education sector by partnering with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.

The degree programs of Pakistani universities have increased their access as a result of USAID programs. Bachelor’s and associate degrees in Education are now offered in 110 universities across Pakistan.

Scholarships have also been provided to talented students for their higher education. This way the financial aid management of universities in Pakistan has improved.

Moreover, the universities in the US are connected with Pakistani universities through these programs to improve the research sector in the country.
