# Dar Reaffirms Pakistan’s Commitment to Stronger Ties with Iran

**Islamabad (TDI):** Pakistan has reiterated its commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Iran as Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with the country’s Ambassador-designate to Tehran, Imran Ahmed Siddiqui, ahead of his posting.

According to the Foreign Office, Dar highlighted the long-standing historical, cultural, and fraternal ties between Pakistan and Iran, describing them as the foundation for continued cooperation.

He said Islamabad remains committed to expanding collaboration in key areas including trade, regional connectivity, cultural exchanges, and broader people-to-people contacts.

Dar stressed the importance of maintaining positive momentum in bilateral relations through close coordination and mutual understanding between the two sides.

He also reiterated Pakistan’s position in favour of dialogue, diplomacy, and regional stability, noting that Islamabad seeks to play a constructive role in reducing tensions in the wider region.

Dar expressed confidence that the newly appointed ambassador would contribute to further strengthening relations between Pakistan and Iran and extended his best wishes for the diplomatic assignment.

On the sidelines of the Regional Envoys’ Conference in Islamabad, Dar also met Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Shafqat Ali Khan. During the meeting, he called for expanding cooperation with the UAE across multiple sectors and further deepening economic and diplomatic ties.

He also highlighted the contribution of the Pakistani community in the UAE and urged continued efforts to support their welfare, while stressing the importance of strengthening people-to-people relations between the two countries.

Pakistan has maintained active diplomatic engagement with regional partners, particularly amid heightened tensions in the Middle East and ongoing efforts to encourage dialogue between major stakeholders.
