# D-8 Emphasizes Investment and Multilateral Cooperation at Antalya Diplomacy Forum

**Antalya (TDI):** The Developing-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation (D-8) underscored the importance of dialogue, multilateralism, and economic cooperation during its active participation in the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2026 held in Türkiye.

Led by Secretary-General Sohail Mahmood, the D-8 delegation took part in high-level panels, bilateral meetings, and media engagements at the forum, which brought together representatives from 150 countries and over 6,000 participants, including heads of state, ministers, and senior officials from international organisations.

The forum, themed “Mapping Tomorrow, Managing Uncertainties,” focused on global geopolitical and geoeconomic shifts shaping international relations and investment flows.

Speaking at a panel on “Investment Across Continents,” Mahmood highlighted how rising geopolitical tensions and changing global trade patterns are reshaping investment strategies. He noted increasing trends such as near-shoring and friend-shoring, describing them as reflections of efforts to enhance resilience and diversify supply chains.

He stressed that investment decisions are increasingly driven not only by cost considerations but also by geopolitical realities, as global value chains undergo restructuring.
