Court Issues Arrest Warrant for Rana Sanaullah

GUJRANWALA (TDI): A judicial magistrate Saturday issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for Rana Sanaullah, the Adviser to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Political Affairs, in connection with a 2020 case.

Sanaullah is accused of attempting to run over police personnel and removing a container during a Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) rally in the city.

The case, registered on October 16, 2020, at Satellite Town police station, includes multiple charges under the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), such as Sections 149, 147, 186, 353, and 324.

Magistrate Sidrah Gill Nawaz, who is hearing the case, ordered authorities to arrest Sanaullah and present him in court by December 12.

Several other individuals, including Salman Khalid Butt, Imran Khalid, and former federal minister Khurram Dastgir, have already been acquitted in the case.

Earlier, a police report related to the case was rejected by the court due to delays in the challan submission. The arrest warrant was issued following Sanaullah’s repeated failure to appear in court.
