Beijing, 26 October 2021 (TDI): The President of China, Xi Jinping had a telephonic conversation with the French President, Emmanuel Macron, today.

During the conversation, the Chinese President enunciated the significance of China-France relations. The two countries maintain contact in various ways. The bilateral ties between the two are flourishing.
He stated that the two have progressively worked to acquire stability of the world in the prevailing global scenario. France and China should collaborate in the domains of civil nuclear energy and aerospace as well as epidemic prevention and control. Additionally, the two should enhance cooperation in biopharmaceuticals, artificial intelligence, and oceans.
More Ventures for Cooperation
China is willing to collaborate with France for biodiversity conservation, global development initiatives, and comprehensive green cooperation. Moreover, the two should support each other to accomplish tripartite cooperation in Africa and other regions.
China Supports France
President Xi Jinping further expressed China’s support for the French stance of EU’s strategic autonomy. China and the EU ought to deepen cooperation and mutual trust. Consequently, China and the EU should maintain a high-level dialogue for better communication.
The French President on his part congratulated China on successfully hosting the 15th Conference of Parties’ Leaders’ Summit of the Kunming Convention on Biological Diversity.
He reiterated France’s commitment to boost EU-China relations. In addition to that, France intends to deepen EU-China collaboration in the areas of economy and trade, biodiversity conservation, climate change, etc. via dialogue.
Macaron conveyed his wish to strengthen ties with China through pragmatic cooperation. He said that he expected the EU-China Investment Agreement to succeed. Also, France will support China to host the Beijing Winter Olympics.
The two leaders concluded the telephonic conversation by reaffirming the decision to maintain communiqué on France-China and EU-China ties along with other issues of mutual concern.
