Chinese Foreign Ministry condoles former US Secretary State

Beijing, 19 October 2021 (TDI): The Foreign Ministry of China conveyed its condolences to the United States of America on the death of Colin Powell. Colin Powell was the former Secretary of State of the U.S. He served the U.S. as Secretary of State from 2001 to 2005.

Colin Powell is known as one of the best diplomats of the United States. He was the first black Secretary of State of the United States. Powell also served in American Army for 35 years. He was then appointed as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Colin Powell was the U.S. Secretary of State when the United States launched two of the most important wars of 21st century. He stood side by side with American President in 2001 when War on Terror was launched. The former Secretary of State also defended the American war of Iraq in the United States. He was the face of the Bush administration during Iraq war.

Colin Powell was the first black American who served in the top policy making of the United States. He was lauded by the current Secretary of State of the U.S. Antony Blinken, the current U.S. State Secretary said that Powell can not be replaced. He further stated that he was the extraordinary man who served the United States.

Colin Powell died at the age of 84 due to the Coronavirus. China extended its condolences to the United States on his death. The Foreign Ministry of China also expressed sympathy with the family of former Secretary of State of America.
