Chengdu (TDI): Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with his Nepalese counterpart, Arzu Rana Deuba, in Chengdu on Friday, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing regional connectivity.
Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, highlighted the progress made in China-Nepal cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the development of the trans-Himalayan multi-dimensional connectivity network.
He stressed that China is ready to work with Nepal to deepen relations as the two nations mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties next year, Xinhua reported.
Deuba Reiterates Nepal’s Adherence to One-China Policy
Deuba, reiterating Nepal’s adherence to the one-China policy, assured Beijing that Kathmandu would not allow its territory to be used for activities opposing or harming China’s interests.
The Nepalese foreign minister also expressed appreciation for China’s concept of building a community with a shared future for humanity.

She confirmed Nepal’s willingness to engage in the Global Development Initiative, a China-led effort aimed at advancing sustainable development.
The talks underscored the importance both nations place on their partnership, with an emphasis on connectivity and mutual development.
