Gwadar, 24 January 2022 (TDI): Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Nong Rong expressed his appreciation for the Presidential visit to Gwadar. The Chinese Ambassador expressed his appreciation for the visit of President Arif Alvi. In this regard, a statement appeared on his official Twitter account, today.

Nong Rong lauded the fast efforts that are being made so that the China-aid project of a 1.2 million gallons per day (MGD) water desalination plant, could be successfully completed.

The aim of the project is to overcome water shortages in Pakistan in general and in Gwadar in particular. This objective will be achieved by purifying seawater from salt and making it safe to drink and use.

The Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, lastly assured that China will keep on assisting its brother Pakistan in various projects. The two nations that enjoy iron-clad friendship will together work for raising the living standards of the masses.

President of Pakistan’s visit to Gwadar

President of Pakistan, Doctor Arif Alvi on Thursday 20 January 2022, visited Gwadar, attended various meetings, and reviewed the ongoing projects that are being done under the initiative of CPEC.

The President was received, at the Gwadar airport, by the Governor of Balochistan, Syed Zahoor Ahmed Agha. Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo, also accompanied the Governor of the province. Chief Secretary, Mathar Niaz Rana was also present.

Furthermore, some other officials also made their appearance on the occasion. Commissioner Makran, Shabbir Ahmed Mengal assisted by Deputy Commissioner Gwadar, Jameel Ahmed Baloch were among the present officials.

On his two-day visit to the city, the President of Pakistan presided over high-level meetings. Various matters were discussed. Trade management on the borders of Balochistan was one of the topics that were covered during the meeting.

The President of Pakistan additionally attended briefing meetings. During these meetings, he was informed of the progress and status of the ongoing development projects in Gwadar. The need and significance of facilitating foreign investors were discussed. In addition, the China-aid project of a desalination plant was reviewed.
