# China, Zimbabwe Elevate Ties to ‘All-Weather Community with Shared Future’

**Beijing (TDI):** China and Zimbabwe announced on Thursday that they are upgrading their bilateral relationship to an “all-weather community with a shared future,” following talks between President Xi Jinping and President Emmerson Mnangagwa in Beijing.

Mnangagwa is in China to attend commemorations marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

During the meeting, Xi praised the “five-star ironclad friendship” between the two nations, saying it had become a model of solidarity between China and Africa, as well as among countries of the Global South.

He pledged China’s continued support for Zimbabwe in pursuing its own development path free from outside interference and sanctions.
