Beijing, 24 December 2021 (TDI): China and Mongolia held the Sixth Strategic Dialogue between the Foreign Ministers of the two countries. Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister, Wu Jianghao virtually met with the Deputy Foreign Minister of Mongolia, Munkhjin Batsumber.

Emphasis on Bilateral Relations during the Meeting

They emphasized the bilateral relations between the two states. They agreed that the fate of the two states is connected with each other due to the geographic location of the two countries. The strategic dialogue highlighted the necessity of enhancing relations between the two states.

The two sides agreed to respect each other’s core interests and respect the issues of concern. They agreed that mutual respect is a key to the development of bilateral relations.

The representatives of China and Mongolia made positive comments on the advantageous results of the two countries’ joint fight against the COVID-19 pandemic as well as exchanges and collaboration in assorted fields.

During the meeting, both sides agreed to enhance political communication and high-level exchanges, advance regional and multilateral cooperation, increase cooperation on pandemic response and development, strengthen multilateral coordination and cooperation, and enhance the friendship between the two peoples.

Mongolia and China will do so to inject new energy into friendship, mutual trust, and cooperation to raise the China-Mongolia comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level. In addition, the Chinese side briefed the Mongolian side about Xi Jinping’s Global Development Initiative.

The Mongolian side assured that it will actively endorse the initiative. They also stressed that the issues related to Taiwan, Hong Kong, Xinjiang, as well as Xizang are internal affairs of China.

Besides, Mongolia has always resolutely supported the stance of China on these issues. The two sides also deliberated upon regional and international issues pertaining to mutual concern.
