Mogadishu, 4 November 2021 (TDI): The Chinese Embassy in Somalia will work with the Ministry of Information, Culture & Tourism of Somalia. The two will jointly collaborate to collect, organize and repair the valuable audio, video, and other materials recording the historical friendship between China and Somalia.

The collaboration will inspire future generations to carry forward the friendly relation between the two states. Qin Jian is the Chinese Ambassador to the Government of Somalia in Mogadishu.

China and Somalia enjoy strong bilateral relations. Officially the relations between the two were established in 1960. The two allies collaborate in the domains of trade, economy, and security. The first trade agreement signed between China and Somalia was in 1963.

Somalia also actively campaigned for ending China’s diplomatic isolation and its membership in the United Nations. The two partners have also recently started conducting joint patrols in the Red Sea region.
