Chairman Senate Pakistan advocates stronger ties with South Korea

Islamabad, 15 October 2021 (TDI): After conversing with the , the Chairman of the Senate, Sadiq Sanjrani met South Korean Ambassador, Suh Sangpyo at the Parliament House on Thursday, 14 October.
Senator Sadiq called for developing strong ties with South Korea. The strong ties would prove beneficial in diverse fields. Strengthening of the relationship would also improve trade and economic relations.
Politico- economic relations 
Pertaining to the trade between the two countries, Sanjrani expressed that the two countries need to increase their trade volume. The trade between the two countries is currently 1.122 billion dollars. Sanjrani stated that the trade volume can be increased if policies of free trade are considered.
Chairman Senate advocated Korean participation in projects like CPEC. He also alluded that the two countries can also benefit from the Korean investment in the Special Economic Zones. He presented Pakistan as a country that is investment-friendly and reap great benefits for the investors.
The two officials also deliberated on the importance of establishing parliamentary relations. It was urged that both  countries need to deepen the ties by involving parliamentary friendship groups. Pak-South Korea Parliamentary Friendship Group was established already.
They also briefly discussed the development of the Samsung Mobile Manufacturing Unit in Pakistan. Senator Sanjrani lauded Korean efforts in helping to preserve the Gandhara civilization of Pakistan.
