CG Tariq Karim visited Northern Illinois University

-

Chicago, 3 December 2021 (TDI): The Consulate General of Pakistan to Chicago, Tariq Karim, visited Northern Illinois University on 2 December. The purpose of his visit was to attend an event organized by a think tank named the Central Asian Productivity Research Center.

While addressing the audience, the Consulate General shared the tremendous business opportunities offered by Pakistan. He further added Pakistan is a great place for investment.

Recently, the Lahore University of Modern Sciences (LUMS) published a report on the assessment of electric vehicles in Pakistan. The report highlights massive investment opportunities for small and big businesses in Pakistan.

Moreover, Pakistan is excelling in Information Communication Technology (ICT). This provides opportunities for Pakistan to improve its exports around the world. With the use of such high technology, the country is also gaining momentum to introduce new opportunities for foreign investors as well.

As Pakistan is one of the developing countries of the world, therefore, it holds huge opportunities for growth and development. The country has not yet reached its full financial potential. This drives it to attract more investors and formulate more policies that will bring in foreign investments.

Pakistan and USA Bilateral Relations

Pakistan and the United States of America (USA) have been signing in various bilateral agreements to strengthen their partnership. USA’s different departments have provided funding to Pakistan to assist the country in exploring and researching business opportunities.

For instance, the United States Agency on International Development (USAID) provided funding to the Lahore University of Management Sciences for creating a report on Pakistan’s electric cars industry.

Furthermore, both Pakistan and the United States of America are cooperating in various other sectors. These include defense, and combating terrorism, Covid-19 as well as climate change. Additionally, the USA has funded a huge number of vaccines to Pakistan, as well,  to help the country with its immunization program.

Both the countries are collaborating to strengthen their partnership and preserve their national interests along the way.
