Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister Received Australian Ambassador

Phnom Penh, 17 October 2021 (TDI): On Thursday, Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister in charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers, Bin Chhin, received Pablo Kang, the Australian Ambassador to Cambodia. The meeting convened in Phnom Penh where the officials discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

Ambassador Kang briefly updated the Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister on Canberra’s cordial partnership with Phnom Penh during the discussion. The two states share a history of cooperation in economic, political, and social sectors, particularly encompassing trade, investment, and environmental issues. 

The Australian Ambassador further maintained that Australia would continue supporting Cambodia in terms of human resource development through offering scholarship programs to its people.

Moreover, Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister Bin Chhin expressed his gratitude towards the Australian government for assisting Cambodia’s financial sector, since Australia is providing nearly one million US dollars to support the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC) this year and plans to provide another million next year.
