London, 02 September 2021 (TDI): The Foreign Secretary of the UK Dominic Raab traveled to Doha to meet the Emir and Foreign Minister of Qatar. The purpose of his visit is to discuss the security issues in Afghanistan.
Just like the German Foreign Minister, Mr. Raab has also planned a trip to visit the regional partner states. His first stop at Doha indicates the importance of Qatar in dealing with the Afghan issue. Already, the British Government has temporarily shifted its embassy from Kabul to Doha.
Upon his arrival, Mr. Raab met the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the Qatari Foreign Minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman. The safety and security of evacuees from Afghanistan remained the agenda of their meeting.
