Blinken Reiterates OECD’s ‘Green and Inclusive Future’ Agenda

Paris, 8 October 2021 (TDI): On Thursday, US State Secretary Antony J. Blinken reiterated his objectives highlighted at the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)’s Ministerial meeting, held from October 5 to October 6 in France. During the tour, Blinken chaired the Ministerial Council Meeting to commemorate OECD’s 60th anniversary.

Secretary Blinken expressed contentment over his visit to France and emphasized continuing efforts to tackle the crucial global challenges, particularly striving for a green and inclusive future. As Ministerial Chair of the meeting, Blinken commemorated the 60th anniversary of OECD and stated that the collective respect for democratic values has kept the members together for the past sixty years.

 

The US State Secretary opened the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)’s Ministerial meeting on Monday, reaffirming the United States’ commitment towards human rights, gender equality, the rule of law, and sustainable market economies. The Ministerial theme revolved around “Shared values: Building a Green and Inclusive Future,” where the US representatives put forward their priorities, including efforts to combat climate crises, tackling Covid-19, promulgating quality infrastructure development, and ensuring an equitable future.
