Dhaka, 26 December 2022 (TDI): The State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, Shahriar Alam had a phone conversation with the US Deputy Secretary of State, Wendy Sherman as they discuss bilateral relations.
The two sides discussed issues of mutual interest in the areas of bilateral relations along with a mutual commitment to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
The bilateral relations between these two countries are held in high esteem looking at the stand of the US in the international community. Their ability to relate with each other in terms of trade, investment, and cultural exchange was much of an issue.
The trade relations between these two countries were another issue of interest. The US has been a great support to the people of Bangladesh in all aspects of the economy. Ranging from various trade relations to revenue generation for the country.

The two sides also emphasized the issue of peaceful relations and looked at how they will be able to support each other in other to fight the current global challenges.
The COVID-19 Pandemic was a blow to many of the nations yet to be fully developed and Bangladesh is one of them. They have been faced with certain economic challenges just as the whole world is going through at these times.
The ability to strengthen their relations with the US will be a big deal for them as they seek to enlarge their circle of economic development.
Bangladesh-US relations
It is pertinent to note that, Bangladesh and the US have long-standing relations which both of them enjoy as independent countries. They have assisted each other all these years and hope to promote it more in the coming year.
