Bangladesh appreciates Japan’s Medical Assistance

Tokyo, 28 August 2021 (TDI): Embassy of Bangladesh in Tokyo stated that the 5th batch of AstraZeneca vaccines were dispatched from Tokyo to Dhaka, Bangladesh. The embassy thanked Japan for its long-standing friendship with Bangladesh.

5th Batch of this vaccines consists of 634,920 doses which cumulatively total over 3 million vaccines to Bangladesh until now. Delta variant is rapidly spreading among the whole region of South Asia including Bangladesh, India. Bangladesh shares a long border with India. The near proximity can pave a way for destruction of the health system in Bangladesh.

It is evident that the Japan’s commitment to Bangladesh was fulfilled in cooperation with the Health departments of both states.
