Beijing, 4 September 2023 (TDI): Azerbaijan has opened its first Trade House in Beijing on September 3, 2023, coinciding with the visit of the Azerbaijani Minister of Economy to China.

The inauguration of this Trade House signifies a strengthening of Azerbaijan’s economic ties with China, as highlighted by the Minister.

Mikayil Jabbarov, the Azerbaijani Minister of Economy, conducted a working visit to China from September 1 to September 4. As part of the visit, meetings were arranged with Chinese officials and corporate leaders.

Additionally, the Foreign Minister shared news of the Trade House’s inauguration in Beijing on their X (formerly known as Twitter) account during the visit.

Cooperation between Azerbaijan and China in the transport sector, particularly within the Belt and Road project, has significantly enhanced the volume of cargo transported from China to the West through Azerbaijan. The trade turnover has also witnessed growth in the past year between the two countries.

Furthermore, Azerbaijan is actively expanding its global trade presence, having opened trade houses in Qatar in 2022 and Astana in 2021.

In recent years, Azerbaijan has established trade houses in the UAE, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Latvia, and Poland.

These initiatives aim to facilitate the export of Azerbaijani products by providing direct contact between exporters and trading houses, streamlining the process of sending goods to various countries.

This mechanism serves as a valuable tool to support and encourage Azerbaijani exporters in their international trade endeavours.
