Rawalpindi, 31 May 2024 (TDI): During his Official visit to Pakistan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Asim Munir.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan in the fields of defense and military.
Additionally, they explored opportunities for collaboration between the specialized institutions of both countries within the defense industry.
Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized the significance of mutual visits and close contacts for enhancing cooperation in the military-technical field between Azerbaijan and brotherly Pakistan.
The importance of bilateral and tripartite military exercises in the Azerbaijan-Turkey-Pakistan format was highlighted to enhance the efficiency of mutual activities between the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan and Pakistan. This also aims to facilitate the exchange of experience between the respective branches of the military.
Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also briefed his counterpart on the peace agenda and the ongoing normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
He also discussed the recent agreements regarding the return of four villages to Azerbaijan and the delimitation of a specific section of the border.
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) underlined Pakistan’s enduring fraternal bonds with Azerbaijan, reaffirming the nation’s steadfast dedication to offering extensive support and collaboration in defense and security domains.
Moreover, the COAS commended the Azerbaijani Armed Forces for their outstanding professionalism and bravery.

Foreign Minister Bayramov conveyed heartfelt gratitude for Pakistan’s unwavering support to Azerbaijan and recognized the nation’s pivotal role in upholding regional stability.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
