Belgrade, 11 October 2021 (TDI): A High-Level Commemorative Event that marks the 60th Anniversary of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) is starting today in Belgrade.
The governments of Azerbaijan and Serbia collectively organized this High-level Event. Matters of great importance will be discussed at the event. Abdulla Shahid gave his opening remarks as the President of the 76th United Nations General Assembly. Some of the significant goals that will be discussed include climate action, inclusive multilateralism, and sustainable development.
The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) was founded at the height of the Cold War as an independent path in international politics. It was for countries seeking to be free of the influence of superpowers and their politics. This event will mark an elevation in relations of Serbia and Azerbaijan. Moreover, cooperation at multilateral forums will be boosted.
