Australia sends aid to Papua New Guinea

Canberra, 20 October 2021 (TDI): The Australian Minister for International Development and the Pacific, Zed Sesleja affirmed the strengthening of ties between Australia and Papua New Guinea (PNG).

He said that Australia marks a great shift in friendship trends with Papua New Guinea in combating Covid-19 Pandemic. Australia sent 40 oxygen concentrators to Papua New Guinea as aid to help Pacific countries to fight the pandemic. The latest consignment was received by PNG. It included 60K vaccine doses to bolster its rollouts.

In a tweet retweeted by Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Zed Sesleja enunciated the commitment to strengthen ties between Australia and Papua New Guinea.

Earlier, Australia also sent experts of Covid-19 to the neighboring island to tackle the disease spread. Australia has been offering aid to other neighboring countries.
