New York, 23 October 2021 (TDI): Australia emphasized over the reduction of arms flow and called to increase initiatives to de-escalate in Myanmar. Australian Permanent Representative to UN, Mitch Fifield in a dialogue expressed the need to intensify efforts in Myanmar where the conflict has been escalating.
Fifield was addressing in an online interactive dialogue with UN Special Rapporteur, Tom Andrews. While addressing, he called to expedite the efforts in reduction of arms flow in coup staged country.

Australian Foreign Minister, Marise Payne found the updates from Myanmar troubling. In a tweet quoting to her government’s Permanent Ambassador to UN, she reaffirmed the need to intensify efforts of de-escalation.
Myanmar has been in a political crisis since its military staged a coup dismissing the PM Aung San Su Kai. So far hundreds of people have lost lives and many are in prison, in the struggle to restore the democracy. Earlier, ASEAN Invited the Myanmar’s non-political parties to the summit. The decision was endorsed by other the ASEAN states.
