# Australia-ASEAN agree to establish Comprehensive Strategic Partnership

Canberra, 27 October 2021 (TDI): Australia and ASEAN decided mutually to set up a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, today.

Australian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister for women, Marise Payne announced this decision through her twitter handle.

She reaffirmed her country’s commitment to work with ASEAN. The partnership will involve $160 million investment from Australia in cooperation for a stable & prosperous region.

Marise Payne also said that Australia considers ASEAN as the heart of an open, inclusive & resilient Indo-Pacific. Australia is also a part of Quad, an alliance which include US, China and Japan as well.
